Former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has announced his retirement from football at the age of 38.
The Cameroon that made his debut in 1997, scored more than 350 goals winning the Champions League with Barcelona and once .
Eto’o, also called African Player of the Year four times, also published the news on his official Instagram, stating:”The end. Towards a brand new challenge. Thank you , big love.”
After linking Real Madrid Eto’o was loaned before going to Barcelona in 2004.
Afer getting the record holder for many La Liga appearances by an African, Eto’o transferred to Inter Milan under Jose Mourinho in 2009 until the twilight of his career observed charms at Anzhi Makhachkala, Chelsea, Everton, Sampdoria, Antalyaspor and Konyaspor and finally Qatar SC.
Internationally, Eto’o was the youngest participant in the 1998 World Cup following making Cameroon’s squad.
Went on to claim two Africa Cup of Nations titles along with gold in the 2000 Olympics in 2000 and 2002.
