Kell Brook and Amir Khan’s elusive battle is going to be awarded”a roll of the dice” from promoter Eddie Hearn.
The former world champions were unable to agree that a grudge game for years – most recently in April when discussions fell through because Khan dropped, and finally decided to struggle Terence Crawford.
“I want to make that fight. I’ll give it a roll of the dice,” Hearn said.
“I will tell them’Men, spring 2020, let’s do it’.
“Hopefully we can get it on the line”
Khan blew away Billy Dib in four rounds in July, but Brook has not fought since December when he outpointed Michael Zerafa.
“He would like to battle in December,” Hearn said concerning Brook that has lately returned to coaching in Sheffield.
“He wants the huge fights. He has been there and done it, he would like to have these huge fights, and that he feels like he’s got a few left.
“He tried to create the Terence Crawford fight, 147lbs remains tricky for him but he could do it using the right quantity of preparation and time.
“He has the hunger, and wants to knock out a particular Mr Khan.
“We’ll find out if we can get it on the line”
Khan said settling his rating with Brook from the days before this summer, ahead of his latest fight.
“The Brook fight is still out there, undoubtedly,” Khan explained. “In Britain it’d be a huge fight.”
Brook was made to deny rumours that he’d retired.
“we would like to combat Crawford,” Brook posted on social networking. “These are the level of struggles that make me excited and I would only ever need to bow out on a high.
“If those big fights could be produced, then I would love nothing more than to dancing again under these bright lights”
